Halloween

The kids once again figured out what faces they wanted on their pumpkins and then after they cleaned them all out Jon got the jigsaw and cut them out.  It is a great way to carve pumpkins!  They turned out so cute again.  Each unique in its own way!

All dressed up ready for trick or treating!
We once again got roped into helping with the Pumpkin Walk.  Jon took over for our family and did a great job again on his character.  Our scene was Madagascar and he did the giraffe.  It turned out so cute!  Jon keeps telling them each year that this is it and he isn't helping again, but he does such a great job they won't listen to him!  He has such a creative mind and knows just how to get the characters done.  This one was a little harder this year but it turned out great!

Teaching Jack To Ride The Motorcycle

We spent the weekend at the cabin and while we were there Jack wanted to learn to ride the motorcycle.  It is always fun to watch Jon teach one of the kids how to ride them.  He runs alongside them giving them instructions.  Jack did really well and was riding around the cabin by the time the weekend was over.

Homecoming 2012

Powder puff game with her friends Miranda, Autumn and Emily

Heidi, Cassie and Tara

The seniors raised money to have the SV fixed so they could light it for Homecoming

Heidi's date made her a corsage out of a fork!  Pretty amazing!
Heidi looked so beautiful in her dress.  I can't believe she is a senior already and will be going to college soon!

Family Pictures

It is always stressful to get family pictures taken.  It seems like the days leading up to it are a nightmare!  Trying to find the right thing for each person to wear and hoping the weather will turn out just perfect about put me over the edge!  We finally got the pictures back and they turned out great!

Heidi Senior Pictures

Heidi and I had a fun afternoon taking her senior pictures.  We were able to go to quite a few different locations with a few clothing changes.  The girl who took them did a great job catching Heidi's cute personality!  These are just a few of the many good ones we have.

Lotoja

This year was Jon's 6th year doing Lotoja.  It is always a crazy but fun day for the family.  Jon is always a little nervous as he starts but usually settles in and does really well with the long day.  This year was no different with the nerves!  You would think that each year it would get a little easier to just get on the bike and ride the 206 miles but it isn't.  He has trained hard throughout the summer and has put in the time needed to do well.  He looked good each time we saw him and I think that he enjoyed the day a little!  As we looked at the pictures they all look just like the ones from previous years, but we have to post just for our memories!

It's always nice to see Jon come across the finish line.  Some years he looks better than other years!  This year he looked good and not so tired and beat from the 206 miles!

Jon received his 1000 mile wheel for finishing Lotoja 5 times!

First Day of School

It's that time of year again to get the kids up early and off to school.  We of course were sad again to see summer end and school start.  I hate to see the kids start another year of school, because it means that they are all a year older!  The pictures are in the order that the kids leave the house for school each morning.  Poor Mallory has the earliest bus!

Grand Teton Summit

Today was the big day!  We woke up at 3:00 and after a quick breakfast were on the trail hiking in the dark with only light from our headlamps.  It was a steep climb up to the upper saddle.  As it was getting light it started to rain and our guides made the decision to climb the Owen Spalding route due to the weather.  The rain turned to snow and we were now climbing in our rain gear and trying to stay positive and just kept climbing.  The weather improved after about an hour and we reached the summit at about 7:45 in the morning.  It was so awesome and awe inspiring to be standing on the summit looking down on the other peaks in the teton range.  It was hard not to get emotional.  We only spent about 15 minutes at the top, enough to get some pictures and take in the view before we headed back down.  The thing with climbing 7000 feet is that you have to descend 7000 feet.  As we descended through the part we climbed in the dark it was amazing to realize what we climbed through.

We had a private tent since Heidi was the only female staying on the lower saddle.  We didn't get much sleep though.

This is just below the summit with the middle teton in the background.

Finally at the top!!!  The weather cleared enough for us to enjoy the views.

With our awesome guide Chris Figenshau!

Now it's time to get down!

Heidi on the repel down to the upper saddle.

After a long hike down 7000 ft. we are finally at the trail head at about 3:15.  We were so glad to see the car.  Our feet were on fire.

Stopping to soak our feet in the cool river!
